Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries in 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed customers and therefore, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, because the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into production with telehandlers, stick booms, man-lifts, articulated booms and light towers.
Because of the economic downturn during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to obtain a partner who held the same values. They partnered up along with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
In the first years after the sale, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, because of the name's solid reputation within the marketplace. Therefore, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their customers. The company is dedicated to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on providing exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machines.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC equipment are emission-free, quiet equipment capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the equipment should be driven significant distances, like for instance in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machine with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the different aerial platforms. These equipment are great for small areas or limited access areas in all kinds of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These equipment deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
